Activated carbon particles embedded in the soil absorb airborne VOCs (harmful gases) released by indoor pollutants, helping to purify the air and create a fresher, more pleasant environment.
The fans integrated into the green wall draw polluted air from the environment and channel it inward by passing the air through plants, felt layers, and fabric filters. During this process, fine particulate pollutants (PM2.5 and PM10) are removed from the air, and clean air is released back into the space. The lower fan creates suction to capture polluted indoor air, passes it through HEPA filters, and directs it into the system.
Plants absorb polluted indoor air through their roots and the microorganisms present in their growing medium, helping to release clean, fresh air into the environment. In addition, during the process of photosynthesis, they absorb carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen. This process reaches its optimal level when sufficient light and nutrients are provided. This gas exchange helps make the surrounding air fresher and healthier.
This green wall can also help regulate the relative humidity of the environment during irrigation and through plant transpiration.
